The Federation is the peak representative body for co-operatives in New South Wales.

A co-operative is an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social and cultural needs and aspirations, through a jointly owned and democratically controlled enterprise.



Co-operative Federation Dinner

In conjunction with the University of Sydney Co-operatives Research Group, the Federation has great pleasure in bringing you two visiting Canadian co-operative speakers:

Mary Nirlungayuk, Corporate Secretary of Arctic Co-operatives Ltd
will speak on "How Co-ops changed the lives of the Arctic People."
and
Ian MacPherson, Emeritus Professor of History, University of Victoria
will speak on "The past is always with us.....why co-op people should reflect on their history."

The close ties between the Federation and the Co-operatives Research Group has led to a number of mutual events and we’re pleased that we’re able to make this another one.  Ian and Mary will be here for the Symposium 'The Role of Co-operatives in Indigenous Communities' to be held at the Women’s College at the University all day on December 12.
